My Superpower

I've always had a talent for spotting typos. I'm a little insane about it. It also makes me a little crazy that I can't ignore them. Most of the time I can forget about them after I'm done reading the website or book where I've found one. Sometimes they nag at me so badly I have to email the webmaster or author. There is just something that catches my eye when a punctuation is incorrect, or a word left out unintentionally.

I pray it is well received, I truly mean well by pointing them out. I pass the info along in hope that corrections can be made on future editions.

I try not to lump grammatical or syntax errors in with my definition of typos. It's rare I mention them. Usually, I would only bring that type of correction to an author's attention if they have asked me to proofread.

As I continue to read I may occasionally mention these, or at least whether or not a book had a typo, but I don't think I would ever actually hold that against an author. I have a feeling these small punctuation errors are more formatting or oversight. I also have never found myself comparing a print copy to an electronic copy of the same book so I cannot rule out that some of these errors may only exist in electronic form.
